Azerbaijan and Armenia on prisoners of war, hostages and missing persons

On
March 18 the meeting of the representatives of state Commissions of
Azerbaijan and Armenia on prisoners of war, hostages and missing persons
took place In Tbilisi.
As
AzerTAdj from State commission on prisoners of war, hostages and missing
persons announced, the representatives from the Azeri side were the
secretary of the State commission Shakhin Sailov and head of the working
group Firudin Sadigov, and from the Armenian side deputy head of State
commission Mikhail Grigoryan and his assistant Leo Aghadjanov.
The
co-chairs of International working group on searching missing persons
and liberating hostages in Karabakh zone Svetlana Gannushkina and
Bernhard Klasen also participated in the meeting.
The
meeting took place in a working condition with mutual understanding.
The
mechanism of constructive cooperation has been worked out, based on
the principle of returning the hostages after the necessary examination
in short terms.
The
participants of the meeting think that exchange of people is immoral
and in the future only liberating the hostages will be considered.
The
sides expressed their willingness to create conditions for the meeting
of relatives and representatives of international organizations with
hostages, in order to get confirmation of willingness in making a
decision on returning them to their countries.
The
State commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan made an agreement on the
further work and regular indirect contacts.
